1 Thessalonians 2.13

“And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.”

Unlike God’s word, man’s word can always be tested for immediate results. That sounds great to some and blasphemous to others, but remember, this is man testing man. Who can actually test God? Who is his peer that can provide a true counterpoint? No one, therefore his word ultimately cannot be tested, but instead must be trusted. This is the essence of faith. Love people, but don’t place your faith in them. They can too easily fail the test. Instead, place your faith in the one who actually requires faith, the one who cannot even be tested.
